The latest trend in the film industry is to show a movie in 3D and the Southern film industry is no exception. Long time after the most popular 3D movie, Avatar, was released there still is some problems being faced by Tollywood to adopt new technology. Mostly it is the lack of foresight.
According to the trend, some directors made their films in 3D but did not stop to think about the fact that there aren’t enough multi-dimensional format supported theatres in the city. Even superstars as great as Rajinikanth made the same mistake. Rajinikanth’s upcoming film ‘Kochadaiyan’ has been made in the same three dimensional format yet somehow the problem slipped from his mind.
There are about six movies being released this year in the 3D format and only about 1600-odd theatres are 3D enabled in the entire Andhra Pradesh. The theatre owners now have to reluctantly convert to the expensive format while the producers are trying to fix what they can.
