Thoofan collects INR 9 crore on first day

Ram Charan’s Thoofan may not have had a great opening in Andhra Pradesh, but its first day numbers from all India looks decent. The film, despite earning stiff criticism, has managed to rake in over INR 9 crore on the release day, beating its Hindi version Zanjeer, which collected only INR 3.44 crore on the same day.

In AP, Thoofan collected approximately INR 5.5 crores. It was released in over 700 theatres. Industry experts believe that the film would have raked in more if the political situation in AP was stable. Due to the ongoing protest, most theatres in Ceded didn’t screen the film fearing protests.

However, Hindi version of the film has been labelled as a flop as it managed to collect a meager INR 3.44 crore when released in over 2000 screens worldwide. Another drop in overall numbers is due to the face that the film hasn’t release in several overseas locations.
