The leading Malayalam star among the younger lot, Prithviraj Sukumaran has tested positive for Covid-19. He has been shooting for the movie, Jana Gana Mana when the news about being positive came into the light.
Prithviraj Sukumaran took to social media and briefed about the situation to avoid unnecessary speculation. The star said that after a long gap, he finally started shooting from October 7th. It was for Dijo Jose Anthony’s Jana Gana Mana. As is the norm, everyone was tested before the commencement of the shoot, and the results came negative back then, which allowed the unit to begin shooting in the first place.
However, on the last day of the shoot, when the Covid-19 tests were repeated; the result came positive for Prithviraj Sukumaran. The actor is asymptomatic. He has no symptoms. Prithviraj has immediately moved to isolation, and all his primary and secondary contacts are advised to test and isolate.
The secondary tests were conducted as few members of the crew got positive reports during the shooting. Kerala is currently witnessing an escalation in numbers in the coronavirus cases. The latest update could come as a speed breaker for few other biggies. The fact that there were ‘positive’ cases despite all the safety measures is a cause of worry, for sure.
Prithviraj Sukumaran, on his part, is keen to get back on sets as soon as possible. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery of the star and his wish to be fulfilled.
