A section of Bollywood followers are elated that a Hindi film could finally beat the epic Baahubali 2 from South. They’re mighty pleased with the fact that Pathaan beat Baahubali 2 and even slapping thigh about the same.
Pathaan beat Baahubali 2’s epic Rs 500 crores run in the Hindi market and it took Bollywood 6 long years to emulate this feat.
But in repairs, Baahubali 2’s run was far superior as it hit the Rs 500 crore mark in pre-GST era. If the current 12-18% GST is applied to the Baahubali 2 run at the box office then it would mean that the film would’ve collected over Rs 600 crores at the box office.
The all India gross of Baahubali 2 remains to be the top with Rs 720 crores. Pathaan is now Hindi cinema’s biggest grosser ever domestically and globally.
Pathaan’s fans are slapping their thighs after beating Baahubali 2’s run. But the very fact that Bollywood, with a mainstream star like SRK, with heavy padding took 6 years to Baahubali 2’s historic feat showcases the might of the Rajamouli directorial.
