Theaters in Telangana are going to open from July 1st with 50% occupancy. Tollywood, as things stand now is looking to target from July last week or August first week. That means theaters will have to feed themselves with old movies or small films which are ready to take the risk until then.
Love Story may be the first biggie and it is eyeing the August 13th release. Nani’s Tuck Jagadish may arrive on August 27th. At least half a dozen medium-budget films are also looking to release before Dussehra. Pushpa may be eyeing the Dussehra release as things stand now.
But the movie will not only need 100% occupancy but also needs Andhra Pradesh Government to soften its stand on ticket rates G.O. brought in during the Vakeel Saab’s release. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Acharya may also look at the Dussehra release if the remaining portions are complete by then.
Many films will be resuming their shoot later this month. Meanwhile, the total cases in the country have dropped to around 60K. The cases in Andhra Pradesh are on a fall.
