While many Tollywood actors manage to give two to three hits in a row, Mega Star Chiranjeevi steals the record for giving two back to black blockbusters namely ‘Indra’ and ‘Tagore’ which were released on 25th July, 2002 and 24th September, 2003 respectively.
While Indra was a fraction based commercial entertainer, the message oriented emotional entertainer ‘Tagore’ was directed by V.V.Vinayak. Both of the these movies had successful runs with Indra breaking all previous industry records with respect to shares and run completing 50 days in 156 centers, 100 days in 118 centers and 175 days in 32 centers. However the long run records set by the movie Tagore surprised all the movie watchers of AP. This movie had completed 50 days in 223 centers and 100 days in 182 direct centers. To this day, the 100 days record of this movie stands at second place after the industry hit Magadheera’s 223 centers.
Chiranjeevi also boasts of holding another rare record having two industry hits with a gap of just one super hit movie in between, the movies being ‘Gang Leader’ and ‘Gharana Mogudu‘ as industry hits ‘Rowdy Alludu’ as the superhit.
