With the on-going lockdown and the lack of clarity regarding the commencement of shoot, it is all but certain that there would be no more biggies for the rest of the year. Even if they were to start in the coming months, everyone is looking at a 2021 release.
The only remote possibility of a biggie to make it this year, if shooting resumes, is Vakeel Saab starring Pawan Kalyan. However, its chance to emerge as top grosser of the year toppling Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is zero. It could have been different with Acharya and Prabhas20 in the fray.
It brings our attention to Stylish Star Allu Arjun. The actor has so far in his career got the biggest hit of the year only once. It was in 2014 with the movie Race Gurram. That year saw the release of two movies each from Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan, but neither could get to the top. The former has two disasters, whereas the latter has two averages.
After six years, Allu Arjun is all set to get to the top of the year, again. It will be his second movie. But unlike the past one, this is also an All-Time Grosser (non-Baahubali).
Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo now puts Allu Arjun in the league of other top stars. They all have two or more films as top grosser of the year. These include Pawan Kalyan (3), Mahesh Babu (3, includes one non-BB), Jr NTR (2), Prabhas (2) and Ram Charan (2, includes a non-BB). Remember that only single language (Telugu) is considered here and hence only two for Prabhas.
The triple knockout punches, All Time Grosser, Topper Of The Year, and during competition with a biggie is what makes Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is a special and unforgettable experience for Allu Arjun and the Stylish Star fans. Allu Arjun, well and truly, enters the big league with these incredible achievements.
