Though Thaman delivered Brindavanam and Mirapakay, it was Mahesh Babu’s blockbuster Dookudu that catapulted him into the big league.
But Thaman couldn’t repeat that level of success again till 2020’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Then Akhanda also happened, and Thaman became a trademark for thumping BGM.
Post-AVPL and Akhanda, Thaman was again given a chance after a huge gap to score for Mahesh Babu in Sarkaru Vaari Paata. But Thaman couldn’t live up to the expectations of the fans. Except for Kalaavathi, the album of SVP was pretty mediocre.
Now, SSMB28 is happening in the much-awaited combo of Mahesh and Trivikram. And Thaman has been assigned to score the music again. And the expectations are mammoth from fans and the audience, to say the least because of Trivikram and Mahesh combination.
Mahesh fans say that this time Thaman can’t afford to disappoint. They say that anything less than a blockbuster album will be a letdown.
It will be exciting to see if Thaman can live up to these unprecedented expectations, but with Trivikram at the helm of affairs, nothing can be ruled out.
