Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivii was released as a festival special , Vinayaka Chavithi, on September 10. The film chronicles the journey of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha. The film got good reviews and Kangana Ranaut’s performance was praised, however with the grim scenario prevailing owing to COVID, the film ended as a commercial failure.
Meanwhile, Thalaivii Hindi version digital streaming details are out. Thalaivii Hindi version is set to stream on Netflix from September 24. Interestingly, the Telugu and Tamil version will be streamed on Amazon.
While the Thalaivii Hindi version is coming early on the OTT platform, the Telugu and Tamil versions will arrive on the OTT platform on October 8, that is after having four weeks run at theaters.
It is worth mentioning that Thalaivii had a good direct-to-OTT offer, but the team is said to have turned down the offer as they expected good footfalls as things returned to normalcy post second wave. The film also starred Arvind Swamy, Madhoo among others.
