It can be said without any doubt that Eetaram Films is one of the iconic banners in Telugu film industry. They have made several memorable flicks with revolutionary content. Pokuri Rama Rao, the presenter of the banner, has succumbed to coronavirus. He was 65 years old.
Pokuri Rama Rao complained of COVID-19 symptoms a few days ago. He was immediately admitted to a private hospital where there was constant medical supervision. According to the reports, Pokuri Rama Rao’s condition deteriorated on July 3rd, and he eventually breathed his last.
An important detail to note here that, Pokuri Rama Rao had undergone a heart-related surgery ten months ago. He has been slowly recovering before he got diagnosed with coronavirus again.
Eetaram Films has been operating since the eighties and made some hard-hitting revolutionary films like Neti Bharatam, Yerra Mandaram, etc. It later went commercial on the mid-2000 after its comeback with the movie Yagnam (2004) starring Gopichand.
In the past few weeks, a few celebrities from Telugu have been tested positive for coronavirus. However, almost all have recovered. The unexpected death of Pokuri Rama Rao has, therefore, come as a shock to the industry. The last rites were conducted today (July 4th) with the presence of close family members.
