Sundeep Kishan who came up with a unique ghost story in his last attempt Ninu Veedani Needanu Nene is ready with a new film. Titled Tenali Ramakrishna BA.BL, the commercial entertainer, is directed by G Nageshwar Reddy.
One look at the teaser is enough to set an impression on Tenali Ramakrishna BA.BL. It is a formulaic entertainer. The freshness in the routine is brought out by the ‘lawyer’ and ‘court’ setting. Some of the gags shown in the teaser are presentable only because of the setup.
Sundeep Kishan has been out of reckoning in Telugu cinema for a long time. Some time back he had done films like Venkatadri Express (his biggest success) and Beeruva which belonged to this variety. But, he had moved away to concept movies and straddled Telugu and Tamil simultaneously.
Ninu Veedani Needanu Nene and now Tenali Ramakrishna BA.BL gives the impression that Sundeep Kishan is slowly getting back to commercial Telugu entertainers. In that aspect, the movie, despite its formulaic nature, seems the right choice. It is now up to how fresh entertainment that the gang can provide.
