KS Rama raoSankranthi season came and went away. But the talk on ‘I’ isn’t dying down. This time producer K.S. Rama Rao lashed out on ‘I’ for non-availability of theatres for his upcoming film ‘Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju’. He says that it is because of ‘I’ that his film didn’t get theatres to release this Sankranthi season.

He expresses his pity on the fate of Telugu films because of big Tamil films like ‘I’, which had been responsible for the delay of Telugu films’ releases. He also points fingers at the Telugu producer N.V. Prasad who bought the Tamil film and he further alleges that he created hurdles resulting in K.S.Rama Rao film’s release getting delayed.

It is a fact that Shankar’s ‘I’ was maximim number of theatres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana; in fact more number of theatres compared to Tamil Nadu. The debate on dubbing films releasing during the festival season and exploiting the market and denying the right for release for Telugu films started before Sankranthi release.

There had been doubts on relaxing the rules for such mega films while small and medium budget movies had to suffer. K.S.Rama Rao claims that his film is far better than the Sankranthi releases this year. If this turns out to be true, then it is sheer injustice to Telugu films by Telugu people. However, Sharwanand and Nitya starrer ‘Malli Malli Idi Raani Roju’ is going to have theatrical soon this January.
