The Telugu OTT space recently welcomed two Sankranthi biggies Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy. There’s Varasudu as well. But the first week of March is a rather dry one as there aren’t any notable Telugu releases on OTT.
But the next weekend promises to be an interesting one as there are two interesting entrants in the Telugu OTT space.
The said titles are Rana Naidu and Anger Tales. Anger Tales premieres on Disney+ Hotstar on the 9th of this month and Rana Naidu premieres on Netflix on the 10th of this month.
Rana Naidu features Daggubati duo Venkatesh and Rana in the lead roles and it is a raw and rustic action thriller series. It should be fun to see Venky and Rana in such new avatars. But for the Telugu OTT audience, a lot will depend on narrative style as this series is shot by Hindi folk.
Then there’s this Anger Tales, which appears to have strongly rooted Telugu narrative. Tharun Bhascker, Suhas, Bindu Madhavi, Madonna Sebastian and others play lead roles in this series.
With either of these new outings be able to impress the Telugu OTT crowd? We have to see.
