The producer of the film ‘Aunty, Uncle and Nandagopal’ released in 2007, Bejjam Rajesh Putra was arrested in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad by the west zone police on Thursday for illegal possession of firearms. Police conducted raid when they got information and arrested him after two country-made pistols and 16 live rounds were found in his residence.
Bejjam Rajesh Putra is a producer cum director in Telugu Film Industry. But he had criminal record since he got associated with various political parties in Andhra Pradesh. He hails from Eluru and has many criminal cases registered on him in Eluru like murder to illegal possession of arms. He is also involved in the murder of a rowdy sheeter in Eluru.
Though he contested in 1998, he lost and in 2007 he entered films. Then he got involved himself in criminal activities again and the alleged murder had happened in 2010. He moved to Hyderabad and produced films like ‘Dawood’ and ‘Nawab Pasha’ and soon to turn director. But a tip-off made the police to raid his house and catch him red-handed withe illegal firearms.
