With the impact of Rajinikanth’s previous two films, Telugu buyers don’t seem to be interested in buying the distribution rights of Telugu version of ‘Kabali’. There is a lot of ambiguity regarding who bought the rights and for how much.
According to the latest reports, the Telugu rights of the film were bought for Rs.32 crore plus. Though the hype on the film is very high, Tollywood seems to be observing the trends silently undecided whether to catch up with the tide or take a safe route.
Going by the box-office fate of Rajini’s previous films, Tollywood isn’t ready to gamble. Initially some big names showed interest to buy the distribution rights of the film, but now someone not so popular or rather a new player came into the scene to buy ‘Kabali’s distribution rights in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
