Popular television face Pearl V Puri has been arrested for raping a minor on the pretext of giving her work on TV. The actor is a popular face in Hindi Television circles and the news of him getting arrested has sent shock waves among his fans and telly world.
Going into details, Mumbai police arrested Pearl V Puri in Vasai after the victim, 17-year-old, along with her mother complained against the actor. Following, a case has been registered against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The actor has been remanded in custody.
According to police officials, the incident is cited to be an old one but upon the complaint they have filed a case under IPC section 376 and POSCO Act. Meanwhile, as soon as the news broke about the actor’s arrest, social media saw the hashtag #ISTANDWITHPEARL trending.
Popular actress Anita Hassanandani, who is also a known face in Tollywood, lent support to Pearl V Puri calling the news as ‘nonsensical’. She condemned the news and said that there is more truth to it than what it appears and eventually it will be out. Anita is known in Telugu for her roles in ‘Ninne Ishtapaddanu’, ‘Nevvu Nenu’ and ‘Ninne Ishtapaddanu’.
