At the start of the year itself, all the eyes were on these two biggies from Telugu cinema. Saaho and Sye Raa are more than the regular Telugu star hero movies. They are made with bigger budgets and pan-India appeal. Saaho proved that with its openings. Now, it is time to look at Sye Raa. Here is how the early box office report looks like.
The Megastar Chiranjeevi starrer is looking to take a thundering opening in Telugu states. While a better picture will be known in the coming days, early indicators point towards a bigger opening day than Saaho in Andhra areas. They could go as high as touching or breaking Baahubali 2, but that would be depending on the talk.
In the Nizam territory, Sye Raa is aiming for the top 3 positions at the moment. The clash with another biggie, War (Hindi and its Telugu dubbing) is likely to have its effect here. Still, the real picture will be known close to release.
Karnataka is expected to be huge, and early signs are pointing at that. However, the real surprise is going to come from the US. Here the Tuesday release (with fewer offers compared to before) is coming to the advantage of Sye Raa. Also, the general enthusiasm for Sye Raa seems more here.
Hindi and other territories are going to be nothing sorts. Clash with a Bollywood biggie War is going to kill the opening day completely. The comparison here should be with the Yash starrer KGF which went head to head with Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero. Incidentally, Sye Raa is also distributed by the same people.
