It was billed as a clash of titans, but that wasn’t how it turned out when Suriya starrer Thaanaa Serndha Koottam (Gang in Telugu), and Vikram’s Sketch were in cinemas for Pongal 2018. Suriya has comfortably crossed Vikram.
Suriya’s Thaanaa Serndha Koottam had a more prominent buzz before release, and there was no match at all. TSK has collected double of Vikram’s Sketch across the major A centers. The same was the case with the US. In the smaller centers, things are little matched even.
On a related note, the thing to keep in mind here is that Suriya is going through a low career phase right now. The opening of TSK too isn’t the optimum that he could get, but it was nonetheless enough to better Vikram’s Sketch.
