suresh babu new tfcc chairmanIs setting up mini theatres with an occupancy of about 60-160 audiences in the government buildings literally feasible acccording to the existing rules under the National Bilding code? The newly elected President of TFCC, Suresh Babu thinks, though mini theaters are an interesting concept, the rules regarding using the National buildings for setting up mini theaters aren’t smooth for the idea.

We know that Telugu Chalana Chitra Parirakshana Samiti Committee under Ramaji Rao is committed to support small and alternative cinema. Hence they came up with the concept of setting up mini theaters at several government offices like Mandal Offices, Collectorates and the like. But it isn’t easy to get permissions for the same. They all come under National Buildings Code.

Suresh Babu’s personal opinion on Small Cinema is, it has to become strong on its own and not rely on only on subsidies. Here he sees the need to decide what is Small Cinema.. whether it is 100 or 150 prints, unlike before the distillation 30 prints were considered to be low-budget movies.
