Supreme-Court-Unlikely-To-Fulfill-YS-Jagan's-WishYSR Congress is taking the legal route to have the local elections as per the schedule. A couple of YSR Congress sympathizers have filed a Lunch Motion Petition over the issue in Andhra Pradesh High Court. The court completed a preliminary hearing on the petition a little while ago.

On the other side, the State Government filed a Petition in the Supreme Court and the issue will be taken up by the Apex Court tomorrow. Andhra Pradesh High Court had posted the further hearing of the case to the 19th of this month since the issue will be taken up by Supreme Court tomorrow.

However, Legal experts are skeptical about Supreme Court interfering in the issue. Last week, the top court said it would hear only urgent cases after it took note of the government’s March 5 advisory cautioning against mass gatherings. The court also revealed that they may be moving towards the filing of case digitally and virtual courts.

Since the Supreme Court itself is taking strict measures, it is unlikely that the apex court will allow the elections and expose the voters and government employees to the dreaded virus.
