Well now that the much anticipated movie of Megastar Chiranjeevi which has been threatening to take off for years has been officially confirmed fans and trade are looking at the challenges the film is going to face. This line of thought has developed because the makers have announced that it would be a Sankranthi release and we all know that it’s a big festival season and clashes are bound to happen. So what are expected clashes as of now?
If the announced dates are anything to go by we will have for the first time a Superstar versus Megastar clash in decades. Yes the recently announced Superstar Rajinikanth film too has been confirmed for a Pongal release. Not only this, our very own Superstar Mahesh Babu too has a film confirmed for the festival as it has proved to be a lucky charm for him.
Apart from these two Superstars’, there is a Powerstar film Gabbar Singh 2 and Young Tiger NTR film Ma Nannaku Prematho, which have been announced as Sankranthi releases. However they are most likely to get adjusted, either before or after the festival.
In short taking all things into consideration, we would most likely be seeing a Megastar versus Superstar clash at the box office. There has been much debate over the last decade or so between the fans of the two as to who is bigger in terms of box office. Fans of Megastar had to be mostly silent due to the sabbatical and political failure. Will it be their turn to raise the heat coming Sankranthi?
