Sukumar is currently occupied with Pushpa: The Rise, the first instalment of the Pushpa duology. In his latest Instagram live session, Sukumar opened up about Pushpa, and also his forthcoming projects.
“Arya 3 will definitely happen,” Sukumar said in the Instagram live session. He didn’t reveal the details of the cast and crew but he stated that the project will happen. Well, it would only be normal for one to expect Allu Arjun, who played the titular role in Arya and Arya 2 to star in the third outing as well.
While Arya was a monstrous success at the box office, the sequel Arya 2 registered a truncated run at the ticket counters as it was released while the Telangana movement was in the pinnacle stage. Arya 2 received a largely positive response but it couldn’t make it big at the box office.
Now, Sukumar has confirmed that the third instalment of Arya will definitely happen. Well, it appears to be that the ace filmmaker is looking to make ‘Arya’, a film franchise. Arya is regarded as one of the classic love dramas in Telugu cinema and we can expect the subsequent outings will have a similar tone as well.
However, Sukumar might have to complete the Pushpa duology, and also has a project with Vijay Deverakonda. It remains to be seen if he will take up Arya 3 only after he is done with these projects or if he will be slotting it right in between them.
About Pushpa: The Rise, Sukumar affirmed that the film will indeed be releasing on the 17th of December. The filming for Pushpa: The Rise is close to completion.
