Character artist Sudha played mother for all most all the heroes from Mohanlal to the present day heroes. We can clearly observe a decrease in the quantity of films in the recent times. Sudha says she isn’t happy with the kind of characters she was offered recently. She doesn’t want to stand like a property in a film.
She revealed that she once rejected Mahesh Babu’s ‘Srimanthudu’ for playing his mother. Later, the role went to senior actor Sukanya. Sudha played Mahesh Babu’s mother in several films earlier. She had got to do interesting roles in them.
Sudha didn’t approve of character artists like Pavitra Lokesh, Pragathi, Nadiya, Tulasi and others playing roles which are just like properties. So, she isn’t accepting roles which limit her being a property.
Well, it’s her perception on the present day character artists. But, Nadiya’s role in ‘Atharintiki Daredi’ and author-backed characters like Shivagami are enough to say that even character artists get good roles.
