But e-mails will replace the letters. According to researchers from Indiana University (IU), an email can be more effective in expressing romantic feelings than other platforms like voice messages, WhatsApp etc.

The researchers have come to this conclusion using psycho-physiological measures from 72 college-age people. People who sent romantic emails are said to be more emotionally aroused and used stronger and more thoughtful language than those who left voice mails.

The researchers found that these are even better than face-to-face meetings, personal phone calls and other direct forms of communications. The research has been accepted for publication in the journal Computers in Human Behavior.
