With 2.5 crore paid subscribers, Disney+ Hotstar tops the list. Then come Amazon Prime Video and Sony Liv with 1.7 crore and 70 lakh paid subscribers respectively. Global OTT leader Netflix shockingly comes 4th on the list with 46 lakh subscribers. Zee5 closely follows Netflix with 40 lakh paid subscribers.
Highly celebrated sports event, IPL exclusively streams on Disney Hotstar and that constitutes to a sizeable portion of the paid subscriber count of the platform.
But in regard to the revenues, Netflix is expected to top the list, given its higher-priced subscription plans. Netflix’s basic plan costs Rs 2388 per year, while its premium plan will cost Rs 9588 per year.
