SS Rajamouli breathes life into his films with his grandeur and magnificent glimpses which takes the audience into a different zone. After enthralling audiences on the silver screen, Rajamouli had planned his OTT debut with a web series.
The filmmaker wanted to make a web series based on Ponniyin Selvan novel. Yes, it is the same one on which Mani Ratnam is making his ambitious project starring a stellar cast.
Throwing more light on this, Rajamouli was given Ponniyin Selvan book by Kamalakannan, who worked as the VFX supervisor for Baahubali 2. Rajamouli called the book very interesting and as he thoroughly enjoyed it, he had the intention of making it into a web series. However, as Rajamouli mulled on it, Mani Ratnam announced making a film on Ponniyin Selvan.
Rajamouli now is looking forward to watching Mani Ratnam’s work on big screens. Meanwhile, the ace filmmaker who was all gung ho with the promotions about the RRR release has taken a backseat. With the surge of Omicron cases, the film has been postponed indefinitely. It is said that makers may go in for April release.
