SRK and the Tamil Connection

Actor Shah Rukh Khan has been doing a lot of promotional tours recently for his latest film Chennai Express. Sometime during the last interview, SRK talked about the connection he seems to have with Tamil as a culture. SRK explained that the movie is not about Chennai but about a train that goes to the Southern India and character drama that follows in its wake. As for his Tamil connection, Shah Rukh feels that showing the south of India in a Hindi film is certainly a unique decision but it is commendable that even with the disparity in language and the cultural diversity, they found love amongst the people.

As for the tribute to Rajinikanth with the lungi song, SRK explained that a film titled Chennai Express could not be made without having Rajini sir. In fact, Rajinikanth’s wide even sent them a letter signed by him regarding the song.
