With just few hours to go all eyes of trade are on Srimanthudu and its box office fate. The films performance is closely followed as it’s the first biggie post the box office storm that was Baahubali. So what’s the impression from the trade so far?
As we have been updating from the past few weeks, in a post Baahubali environment the terms surely has increased. This is helping Srimanthudu get good distribution deals and terms locally on exhibition level which it couldn’t have gotten prior to Baahubali.
The result of these newly agreeable terms is that Srimanthudu is looking all set to become the second biggest opening of all time behind Baahubali. It is surely going to overtake Atharintiki Daredi feel the trade. How far will Srimanthudu go ahead of the latter and how close it will be to the former will be depending on the talk the film gets.
There is also a release limit as Baahubali is already occupying many screens and add to it we have a Hollywood biggie like Mission Impossible release. They won’t have effect as we go down the centers but in the multiplexes of cities, shows of Srimanthudu are getting restricted. For example in Prasads, Hyderabad, Srimanthudu has got fewer shows than it would have normally got.
Keeping all this in mind the trade is curious to see the openings as this would most likely be the scenario going forward for all the biggies. Srimanthdu would therefore be a good pointer at how collection of a regular commercial film is going to be in post Baahubali TFI.
