Sr Director Makes Akkineni Fans ProudKrishna Vamsi is coming up with a dramatic film Rangamarthanda starring Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishna. As part of creating awareness, he recently gave an interview on a YT channel.

During the interview, he talked about Akkineni Nagarjuna and said that he is the pioneer of taking Telugu cinema globally. Vamsi said that Nag introduced many talented technicians to Tollywood like Ram Gopal Varma and himself. He said that Nag was the one who brought creative minds from various languages to Telugu, which included Mani Ratnam, Faazil, Ravichandran, SV Rajendra Singh Babu, and Mahesh Bhatt.

Krishna Vamsi also said that Nagarjuna’s vision was tremendous, and he can be called the first pan-India star by doing films like Shiva remake and Khuda Gawah and brought recognition to the Telugu industry. The bits and pieces of this interview are being shared by Akkineni fans on social media who are feeling proud of Nag.

While Krishna Vamsi is somewhat correct, the truth is that despite many efforts, Nag couldn’t make the impact that SS Rajamouli could create with Baahubali. If Nagarjuna was so successful in being a pan-India star, then Tollywood would have created a market in the North in the 90s itself. But it was only after Baahubali that Tollywood got its due respect.
