As far as the Telugu is concerned, Aha Video has surprised everyone with its advent in the past year or so. It has planned its act perfectly and made the right moves to stay afloat between International OTT majors. After a lot of hard work, it has reached a position where no other OTT major can ignore it any longer.
Now, there is another entrant into the Telugu OTT Space with Spark OTT. Even though Spark OTT is into five languages, it is predominantly a Telugu platform. Even before the launch, it has shown aggression in promotions grabbing the attention of the audience as well as OTT experts. It will now boil to how they chalk out their plans to provide the audience with interesting content both in terms of Originals and acquired content.
Spark OTT seems to be showing promise in the direction. Its initial slate of Originals and acquired titles are interesting. RGV’s D Company is the first film that premiered on the OTT platform. It is a subject which RGV is popular for and so, Spark OTT has made a right move and that has paid off as well. The OTT platform claims to have got 1,21,986 subscribers in just 12 hours of its launch.
Sagar Machanuru, the man behind this OTT platform is delighted and is saying Game for the challenges that lies ahead. There is no doubt Aha Video will be watching this development. Aha Video is already much ahead but healthy competition between both the players will result in quality content for the audience.
