This is truly shocking to know that maestro Ilayaraja sent a legal notice to renowned singer S.P. Balasubramnayam restricting the singer from performing the songs composed by him. Balu always took the name of Ilayaraja with great reverence.
Responding to the legal notice sent to him while he was on his US trip along with his music troupe including singer Chitra, SP Balu sent out a public note that he would hereafter restrain from performing Ilayaraja’s compositions. He is going to obey the copyright law.
The eminent singer is surprised the way he was sent a legal notice when they could have sat together and discussed it. Balu had performed in numerous concerts across India and other countries but was never restricted this way. Thus, Balasubramanyam is going to sing the compositions of other music directors from now.
