South Rampage on Break, Can Bollywood Make?Bollywood has been in the doldrums since the post-pandemic. The biggest of films like Bachchhan Paandey, Jersey, 83, Antim, Bell Bottom, starring the biggest of stars, have tanked.

On the other hand, south films like Pushpa, RRR, and the recent KGF Chapter 2 have created havoc at the box office. The north audience is preferring to watch big-scale action Dhamaka films from the South rather than watching a pale biopic, a stale remake, or a Thanda romantic film from Bollywood.

But there are no more such pan-India films to release from the South in the next few months till Pushpa: The Rise or Adi Purush. So trade pundits feel that Bollywood can make a strong comeback, and the best bets are the historical Prithviraj, Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra, and Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu.

There will be some films from the South that may be projected as pan-India films, but in reality, they might not be. Films like Khiladi and Beast were released this year as pan-India films, but they sank without a trace at the Hindi box office due to no appeal.

It will be exciting to see which movie will resurrect Bollywood and make it regain its previous glory.
