Kamal Hasan, the famous actor cum filmamaker, was recently seen at the opening day of Media and Entertainment Business Conclave (MEBC), a Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) initiative in Chennai. Advocating the merits of the Southern Film Industry, Kamal proudly said that valued at 21,190 crore in terms of its worth, the South Indian film industry accounts to 65-70 percent of total movies produced in the country.
“I may sound like I’m bragging, but it’s true. National cinema resides in the south because filmmakers there are not restricted to one language. They have taken the effort to go beyond the borders,” said Kamal.
As for the direction of his own career, Hasan is eagerly awaiting the release of his latest movie ‘Vishwaroopam’, at the same time confirming that the audio of the film will be released on his birthday, November 7.
