KGF 2 is one of the keenly anticipated pan-India outings. The film is due for worldwide theatrical release on the 14th of April.
But even before KGF 2’s release, the director of the project, Prashanth Neel became one of the most sought filmmakers in South Indian cinema. After the blockbuster success of KGF, several top Telugu stars queued up to work with him.
Prashanth is currently busy with Salaar, which will apparently be made in two parts. Then there is the project with Jr NTR, which was announced a while back. Prashanth is also in talks with Ram Charan and Allu Arjun. These projects might be announced sooner or later.
It needs to be said that the majority of these projects directly depend on the box office verdict of KGF 2. If the film clicks, then it is all good for Prashanth Neel. But if it fails, so many ifs and buts will come into the equation.
Given that all the Telugu top stars are eager to set up winning projects, they might not be too keen about the collaboration with Prashanth Neel if KGF fails at the box office. They might look for other alternatives. This is only natural.
In case KGF 2 stutters, many of the top stars might wait till the release of Salaar, before taking the consolidated call on the collaboration with Prashanth. This will be a lengthy process.
So, KGF 2 means a whole lot more for Prashanth Neel than for anyone else. If the film clicks, he will be one of the celebrated and top-billed directors in South Indian cinema with several big-market Telugu stars eager to work with him. Else, it will be a different story altogether.
