With the night curfew still on in Andhra Pradesh and the controversial ticket rates issue not resolved, the medium and big-budget films of the Telugu film industry are not in a mood to release any sooner. It looks like August is totally up for grabs for the small films.
SR Kalyana Mandapam and six other small films – Mad, Mugguru Mongallu, Merise Merise, Ksheera Sagara Madhanam, Ravanalanka, and Ippudukaka Inkeppudu are releasing on August 6th. SR Kalyanam Mandapam has got good buzz thanks to the good songs and decent trailer.
Poorna’s Sundari is announced for August 13th release as Independence Day Special. Not in the wildest dreams, a small film would have got Independence Day weekend release if not for COVID-19 and the other factors right now. Another small film, Plan B starring Srinivas Reddy and Murali Sharma is announced for August 20th release.
More small films may arrive in theaters on August 13th and 20th. The question is if these films will motivate the audience to come to the theaters and make some bucks.
