Legendary Telugu lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry sadly passed away due to lung cancer-related complications on the 30th of November. Nani‘s Shyam Singha Roy is the last ever film Sirivennela worked on as he penned a couple of songs for the film.
Now, team Shyam Singha Roy has made a special announcement. Nani announced that Shyam Singha Roy is dedicated to Sirivennela. Also, the director of the film Rahul made an interesting revelation.
“On 3rd November Sastry garu called me and said he is unable to finish writing lyrics to the song for medical reasons. Early in the morning on 4th November, he called me through the phone and said he conceived the Pallavi of the song and asked me to pen down the lyrics as narrated them on the phone. There is a reference to ‘Sirivennela’ in this song. When I asked him why, Sastry garu said ‘This might be my last ever song’,” Rahul said.
Fittingly enough, the said song from Shyam Singha Roy has been titled Sirivennela. The full lyrical video will be out on the 7th of December.
It is known that Shyam Singha Roy will be hitting the silver screens on the 24th of December.
