Shruti Haasan made her OTT debut with Netflix anthology, Pitta Kathalu last year. The actress has finished shooting for her maiden web series, Bestseller. The web series made in Hindi is for Amazon Prime Video in which she plays the female lead will release on February 18th.
“I am very excited about the web series. I play a very good role and people will appreciate it. Shooting for a web series and a film is the same. We feel the difference only later. A film will have a new audience when it arrives on OTT. We will have detailed and elaborate stories in the web series,” Shruti said.
The series is an adaptation of Ravi Subramanian’s novel, The Bestseller and she will be reuniting with Mithun Chakraborty after 12 years. They had first worked together in Shruti’s debut movie, the 2009 action-thriller, Luck. Bestseller is all about love, betrayal, and redemption.
“I almost watched all popular titles on OTT except for Netflix‘s Squid Game. I do not want to watch it after the hype dies down because I do not want to enjoy it with preconceived judgment. So, I would watch it only after one year. I am always like that. I did not read Harry Potter in my childhood when everyone is after it.,” the actress revealed.
