mumbai actress raped by producerA three-year-old girl of Varanasi got abducted, raped, brutalized and was later dumped in a local river. the girl’s condition was critical but what followed further is disgusting. The local police station and the local Government Railway Police (GRP) quarreled each other for a day over jurisdiction.

They even got a measuring tape to resolve the jurisdiction dispute. It took the police a whole day to register the FIR as people looked on in disbelief. Factually, there is no jurisdiction problem in India. There is some thing called ‘zero FIR’ in Indian Penal Code which allows for an FIR to be filed in any police station, regardless of where the crime took place.

But the Police are totally unmindful of law. In fact most police stations in the country do not follow the law and strive to keep the number of crimes registered in that area low by simply not recording it.
