Getting a statue in Madame Tussauds is seen as a matter of great privilege which is bestowed upon only extremely popular cultural icons. Very recently Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi got a place.
Given such pedigree it came as a huge shock that a Television actor Kapil Sharma got the nod to be waxed for the museum. It appeared unreal when the news broke out initially as many Superstar’s in India, which includes the likes of Rajnikanth too, doesn’t have a statue yet.
However as expected the news turned out false. It all seems to have germinated from the mind of hyper active PR of the popular TV show host. One wonders if this was just another stunt to promote that comedian’s latest show?
