bullet found in khamam student Chaitanya baggageA bullet was found in the cabin baggage of a 22 year old by CISF personnel at the RGI airport on Wednesday. Sai Chaitanya, a student pursuing MS in the USA, originally from Khammam, was detained for questioning for the possession of a live .9mm round.

He was about to board a Chicago-bound flight and the bullet was found during the scanning of baggage.

At the inquiry, Chaitanya told the airport police that he accidentally brought the bullet with him to India and that it belonged to his roommate in the US. The bullet has a ‘Made in USA’ mark on it and while Chaitanya’s roommate mailed a letter stating that it was purchased by him in the US and left in Chaitanya’s bag by mistake, a full inquiry will be conducted regarding the incident.
