Nikhil Shankarabharanam Movie ReviewWhat is the film about?
Gautam (Nikhil) is an NRI, he is forced to come to Bihar to clear the debts of his father. Where does Shankarabharanam fit into this scenario and how he gets rids of the debt is what the film is all about.

How is Nikhil’s performance?
Nikhil has over the course of his past three films toned down tremendously as an actor and enhanced his screen presence from the initial shriek filled days. In Shankarabharanam we aren’t reminded of those initial days but the recently developed screen presence has gone for a toss. The NRI accent is overdone so much that it starts irritating pretty soon and with it comes down the overall impression Nikhil has created in recent past.

Uday Nandanavanam Shankarabharanam Movie ReviewDirection By Uday Nandanavanam?
Direction by debutant Uday Nandanavanam is weak. He fails to bring the required narrative grip to hold the emotions together. The sentiment track of family’s past along with debt and the kidnapping angle that oscillates between drama and comedy in first half don’t gel well. It all looks patchy and in turn neither the drama nor the comedy creates an impact and proceedings look lackluster.

The second half starts on a better note and has a singular engaging narrative but it turns into a formula of sorts pretty soon for one’s comfort. Once a pattern is set no matter how much the actor’s do it never feels alright. There are moments of fun but nothing comes together as a whole to create the solid impact that is required for the film to click.

Nandita Shankarabharanam Movie ReviewNanditha, Anjali and other artists?
Nanditha has very little to do as a performer. She has a limited role in larger scheme of things and that too is routine stuff. Leaving aside the lead pair the film is stuffed with known faces who appear in and out of frames doing literally nothing. Among multiple sets of comedians, Sapthagiri and Prudhvi are given meatier parts. Both do their usual stuff but Prudhvi steals the show in second half even though it goes bit overboard at times. The rest like Praveen, Satyam Rajesh, Krishna Bhagwan, Shakalaka Shankar, Sanjay Mishra etc are all wasted. There are similar number of character actor’s too but none barring Rao Ramesh and Sampath towards the end do anything to be remembered. Coming to Anjali amidst all these faces she stands out due to her characterization and usage, albeit for a brief period. However performance wise she looks miscast and tries too hard to live up to the character.

Praveen lakkaraju Shankarabharanam Movie ReviewMusic and other departments?
Music by Praveen Lakkaraju is passable. Even the background score is nothing special, in fact it comes across as loud at times. Cinematography is pretty good though. Editing is alright. Dialogues are typical Kona Venkat style. There are punches galore but only few actually land.
