One of Inda’s most creative directors, Shankar, is teaming up with Ram Charan for his next tentatively titled RC15. The film boasts a splendid cast, a solid technical team, and a strong production house. Despite all these factors, Shankar has to overcome three major headaches for this film.
The first one is the constant comparison with SS Rajamouli. There was a time when there was a debate about who was the best director in India? Shankar or SS Rajamouli. But after Baahubali and RRR, SSR has gone miles ahead of Shankar. Shankar has to up his game in a big way to match up to the standards set by Rajamouli.
The second headache is the fact that Rajamouli projected Ram Charan in a way even Mega fans didn’t imagine. The way Rajamouli designed RC’s character was simply spectacular. It will be very difficult for Shankar to match the heroism of Ram Charan in his film with that of RRR. Especially it will be a daunting task for Shankar to satisfy the audience’s expectations from Charan after RRR.
The third headache is that Shankar’s image got badly ruptured due to the Indian 2 fiasco. That film’s shooting had to be stopped mid-way, and the entire blame was put on Shankar. There is a lot of pressure on Shankar to deliver in a big way with RC15 so as to make people forget about the damage done by Indian 2.
