The makers of Samantha’s big budget pan India film, Shakuntalam have dropped the trailer for the film.
The trailer starts with the introduction of Sam’s character. She is introduced at Shakuntala, a stunningly beautiful angel-like lady from the Hindu epic of Mahabharata.
Sam looks beautiful in the trailer and she is evidently playing a character with multiple shades. This is unlike anything she did in the past in her career so it should be interesting to see how she emotes in this challenging character. Dev Mohan is seen as Dushyanta.
There’s the extensive usage of VFX and CGI to create a heavenly feel. The grade of the VFX isn’t all that appealing in the trailer, and we should see how it unfolds on the big screens. The effort is visible and the VFX quality will hopefully get better as the release is more than a month away.
The final shot in the trailer where Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha is seen riding on a lion looks intriguing. This catches the attention towards the end.
Bringing a whimsical tale of love from the epic Mahabharata is no easy task. We should see how the director Gunasekhar has fared at it once Shakuntalam hits the theaters on the 17th of February this year.
The film is being presented by Dil Raju in Telugu and it is getting a pan-Indian release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
