Samantha Ruth Prabhu is one of the few star heroines in the South Industry who can draw audiences to the theaters. Her last film, Yashoda, did decent business at the box office.
Despite the amateurish script with a lot of loopholes, that film turned out to be a safe bet for the makers solely because of the Samantha factor.
Now she is coming up with Shaakuntalam, directed by Gunasekhar. Whatever buzz the film has is only due to Samantha. The audiences have some trust that if Samantha is in the film, the film wouldn’t be bad. If the film turns out to be a success at the box office, then it would be an added advantage to her next film, Kushi.
A successful film always increases the buzz of any star’s next film. Kushi is already a hot project in the trade because of various reasons, including the fresh pairing of Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha.
So if Shaakuntalam does well, it will be an additional boost to Kushi in terms of not only hype but also its business.
