Settlers in Hyderabad to get their water from AP!In what can be termed as a bizarre demand, Telangana government argued before Krishna River Management Board that Hyderabad is dominated by settlers of Andhra Pradesh and their water needs in the city should also be shared by the Andhra Pradesh.

Usually Hyderabad needs 17-20 TMC of water every year for the needs of the people here. Since Andhra People are more, Telangana officials proposed that they take half of the water from AP’s share of allocations.

AP officials first objected this saying that there are drought prone districts and Capital going to be built but finally was forced to agree for the proposal. It is surprising that Telangana government can not provide the settlers with water from their share after fully enjoying the taxes produced by them. When water share can be drawn from AP, why not AP gets a share in the Taxes collected from settlers, many ask!
