You can call The Kashmir Files a vile and propaganda film, but it made 100s of crores at the box office, which no one can deny. The film also gave a successful formula of making hit films with the least budget to the ailing Bollywood.
Hours after the extremely horrific and tragic Balasore train accident in Odisha, which killed at least 288 passengers and injured over 1000 others, several celebrities expressed condolences. The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri was also one of them.
Being an ardent supporter of PM Modi and the BJP government, he also posted a tweet appreciating the efforts of Indian Rail Minister Ashwini Vasihnaw. He wrote, “This is the first time I have seen such a hands-on railway minister like Ashwini Vaishnaw. Only inhumans can politicize a tragedy like this.”
Alt News fact checker Mohammed Zubair, who is famous for puncturing the hypocrisies of people on social media, quote tweeted Agnihotri’s tweet and posted a screenshot of Agnihotri’s tweet from 2010 where he was bashing Mamata Banerjee for a similar train accident. In the screenshot, it can be seen that Agnihotri wrote, “Train accidents due to human error. I agree. Mamata Banerjee is the biggest human error.”
Vivek Agnihotri himself was doing politics over dead bodies during the 2010 train accident when Mamata Banerjee was the railway minister. Now that BJP is the ruling party, he is shouting on social media not to politicize such a tragic incident.
Vivek Agnihotri has been caught exposing his hypocrisy previously also on many occasions, and this was just another such instance.
