Director- SS RajamouliRRR starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan is proving to be a golden goose for its makers. It is yielding historical numbers even before the release. The latest is the post-theatrical satellite and digital rights.

Zee Group has bagged the satellite and digital rights of RRR, post its theatrical release. It has paid a never before heard amount of approximately 325Cr. It is the biggest price ever.

There has been a tough competition among the various digital platforms, and Zee won the race. For a long time, Star Network (Disney Plus Hotstar) were in the fray, but finally, it felt short.

It must be noted here that Pen’ Jayantilal Gada has previously got all the rights for all languages for 475 Cr. It also included the Hindi theatrical rights of RRR. Jayantilal has sold the satellite and digital set (including all languages) to Zee Group. Pen will now only distribute the Hindi version of RRR theatrically.

As if 475 Crore deal is not sensational enough, Pen Studios offloading a part of it for a whopping 325 Crore is a bigger sensation. Pen Studios just have a meagre 150 Crore riding on the Hindi theatrical rights which is a cakewalk.

RRR being the follow up of director SS Rajamouli after the two parts of Baahubali is the sole reason for the craze nationally. In Telugu, there are additional factors, Jr NTR and Ram Charan, but that is not the case with other languages.

RRR is slated to release on October 13th as of now. But, that is not happening according to the buzz in the trade. The best option for recovering the record-breaking investment is Sankranthi 2022, and everyone is hoping that RRR gets ready for the festival season.
