There had been a lot of coincidences regarding ‘Leader’ film and the real life incidences that happened in the political scenario with regard to the death of then CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy reveals director Shekar Kammula.
He gave clarity that he didn’t target either Jagan Mohan Reddy or his father late YSR in his film. He even had to edit the parts of the film during the making as there had been a lot of coincidences with the death of the CM and his son trying to become the CM.
Coming to the ratings of ‘Leader’, the director expected five-star ratings but that didn’t happen. He opines that the media didn’t connect to the movie well though it’s a path-breaking movie in that genre.
He is happy anyway, as ‘Leader’ is a special film in his career which isn’t inspired by any real life political incidents, though there are coincidences.
