What is Ram Gopal Varma’s take on the latest controversy when TDP volunteer Devibabu Chowdary approached the Election Commission of India with a petition to stall ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ release on 22nd March and alleged that it is a campaign film targeted against Chandrababu Naidu during the election time?
Ram Gopal Varma got into a heated argument against the petitioner and said that he would be using his constitutional rights to release his film whenever he wants to. Nobody can dictate him when to release the movie. According to Ramu, “If you see ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ as a campaign movie, then it is,” said RGV. Everyone has the right to campaign during the election season and even the Election Commission cannot deny the right as people have different ways to campaign through various media sources.
While the petitioner says that he has no objection if the film comes after elections, RGV also says that he will decide his movie’s release. The Election Commission of India transferred this issue to the State Election Commission’s CEO. So, let’s see for the response from the State CEO.
