The Tollywood film industry might currently be facing an unpleasant situation. The industry, which is famous for its maximum number of movie releases second to the Hindi film industry, is going through a problematic phase, one of which includes that no channels are buying the satellite rights for these movies nowadays. About 135 of them are stuck after they went for the preliminary process and several channels are not very interested in buying their rights.
Only some time back, these channels would buy the satellite rights even before a movie’s release which worked as the producer’s source of income. However, nowadays these TV channels wait and see for the film’s success and then decide to buy the satellite rights. We also hear that the film rights are being bought on the basis of the actors’ name. While actors like like Mahesh, Pawan Kalyan, Ram Charan and NTR make the ‘A’ category, the ‘B’ category includes actors like Allu Arjun and Prabhas, In the ‘C’ category, senior heroes like Balakrishna, Venkatesh and Nagarjuna, In the ‘D’ category, Allari Naresh, Manchu brothers are among some of the heroes. There are some heroes fall under E and F categories but their satellite rights are not purchased but the profit is shared between the producer and the Tv channel according to a popular tabloid analysis. Interesting isn’t it?
